Why Has It Taken So Long To Rebuild?
It is well known that sanitary sewer service has been an issue. While that has been resolved, the 2 year delay
in obtaining the State of Indiana permit to operate a Package Sewage Treatment Plant, combined with other issues
related to the project, slowed progress.
The old facility was served by four septic systems. Due to new state regulations that is no longer an option.
With the assistance of Town of Nashville officials and the Brown County Health Department, a number of options
were considered including connection to the Town of Nashville system. However that option was not cost effective.
In addition, town regulations required that sewer system customers be annexed into the Town of Nashville.
State and Brown County permits have now been issued for the Little Nashville Opry Sewage Treatment Facility.
Our thanks to the Brown County Council for their approval of a 10-year property tax abatement to assist with the
costs associated with the wastewater treatment facility.
